Ratchaburi, Samut Prakan stay put in relegation zone

Hosts Ratchaburi were held to a goalless draw by Samut Prakan City in their Thai League 1 encounter at Mitr Phol Stadium on Sunday night.

Both teams are in the red zone, fighting for their survival in the top flight.

Ratchaburi are in 12th place with 20 points, while Samut Prakan are a spot below with 17.

Although both teams played attacking game, they were not clinical enough to convert the opportunities they had and ended up sharing a point each.

Samut Prakan coach Yasushi Yoshida said after the game: “In the first half, we did quite well but the opponents switched to pressing.

“We also changed our tactics and played a pressing game and were able to create some good chances. We had several chances to score goal in the second half but did not avail them.

“We still have problems and we need to improve our finishing.”
