Project uses AI to gauge rapid X-rays

A group of IT professionals are working with Rajavithi Hospital to use artificial intelligence (AI) technology along with rapid lung X-rays to screen Covid-19 patients who are to be isolated at home as the caseload situation is now overwhelming medical facilities.

“We see the caseload overwhelming medical resources due to the rising number of Covid-19 patients and a shortage of the service, so home isolation needs to be supported,” said Anothai Wettayakorn, co-chair of a group called Covid-19 Digital Conqueror (CDC), which is made up of IT professionals.

According to Mr Anothai, CDC members include 40 programmers in Thailand as well as those working in foreign countries, such as Ireland and the US.

The group rolled out the Stayhome Lung Safety Project @rapidxray campaign to provide lung X-ray screening for those in home isolation.
