Power of two as tours looking into future

When the PGA Tour and European Tour announced new and exciting details around their Strategic Alliance which will see three tournaments being co-sanctioned in 2022 and greater rewards on offer to golf’s glory-hunters, England’s Tommy Fleetwood summed it all up rather aptly.

“It’s a small glimpse into the future,” said Fleetwood, who is a member of both tours.

Indeed, the announcement that the Barbasol Championship, Barracuda Championship and Scottish Open will count towards both the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup and European Tour’s Race to Dubai rankings from 2022 onwards is a massive leap into an exciting future which bodes well to the global ecosystem in men’s professional golf.
