PM presides over ceremony on the anniversary of the late King’s birth

Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin and his wife presided over a religious ceremony to offer alms to 189 monks at Sanam Luang this morning, on the anniversary of the birth of late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, which coincides with National Father’s Day.

The ceremony was also attended by other cabinet ministers and their spouses, members of the Privy Council,  presidents of the Supreme Court, the House and the Senate, the Constitutional Court, commanders of the three armed forces, the national police chief, permanent secretaries of all ministries and representatives of the private sector.

The prime minister and the others later went to the King Rama IX Memorial Park, to pay homage in front of the statue of the late king.

Rajadamnern Avenue in Bangkok is decorated with lights and colourful flowers in honour of the late monarch.
