PM floats his krathong in Sukhothai

Loy Krathong is celebrated on the full moon night of the 12th lunar month, which this year fell on November 27, when Thais launch decorated floats or “krathong” onto waterbodies to pay respect to Phra Mae Khongkh, the Goddess of Water.

In Sukhothai, the festival has been celebrated in and around Sukhothai Historical Park in Muang district since November 18.

After floating the krathong that was bestowed by His Majesty the King, the PM and his wife witnessed a light and sound show in the company of deputy prime minister Somsak Thepsutin, a Sukhothai native, who welcomed the PM’s group.
