Left back Teerathon Bunmathan has been appointed as captain of the Thai team for two friendly matches.
The War Elephants face Nepal at Chonburi Stadium in Chon Buri on Tuesday and take on Suriname at BG Stadium in Pathum Thani on Sunday.
Both matches kick off at 7pm.
Thailand coach Mano Polking and team manager Nualphan Lamsam had a meeting with the players on Tuesday at a Bangkok hotel where Buriram United defender Teerathon was announced as captain of the team.
Japanese club Kawasaki Frontale’s Chanathip Songkrasin, who captained the side which won the AFF Suzuki Cup in January, is not in the team.
