A friend and I are arriving in Bangkok in November. The plan is to spend a day or two in BKK and then rent a car to drive down to Ko Phangan. We plan on taking two days and nights for the trip. I had some questions about this:
1. Are there any car rental companies that would allow us to pick the car up in BKK and drop it off somewhere down South? Perhaps Surat Thani.
2. What’s our best bet for finding accommodation along the way? Is camping feasible?
3. Do you have any recommendations for where we should stop on the way?
4. Any general advice for driving in Thailand?
