Place to Stay in Chiang Mai (hotels)

I know this question has probably been asked a million times before, but hey, I couldn’t resist adding my own twist to it! I’ve done some searching, but let’s be honest, nothing beats real human advice, right? So here goes: I’m heading to Chiang Mai from the bustling BKK for a sweet 5-7 day stay before venturing to CR. And then, brace yourselves, I’m taking flight down to Krabi!

Now, let me just clarify, I may be in my 40s, but that doesn’t mean I’ve lost my party spirit! I’m not looking for a wild nightlife extravaganza, but I’m all up for a cozy bar with an impressive selection of beers on tap, where I can unwind and mingle with other travelers. Oh, did I mention I have a passion for capturing the essence of history, temples, and ruins? I’ll be armed with my trusty 360 video gear, panoramas, and, of course, a drone (once I’ve got my permits sorted out!). Exciting times, right? So, how many days do you reckon I should spend in each place, CM and CR?

Word on the street is that old town is the place to be in Chiang Mai, and it sounds just right to me. As for accommodation, I’ve got a budget of around $1000 TB to $1500 TB per night, but I’m flexible if there’s a real gem out there. If any of you amazing folks could suggest some decent hotels that won’t break the bank, and maybe even recommend some cool co-working spots for my downtime, I would be eternally grateful. By the way, I’ll be gracing Chiang Mai with my presence around mid-June.

Alright, fellow adventurers, hit me up with your wisdom and recommendations! Let’s make this trip one for the books!
