The Phuket International Airport is the main gateway with direct flights as Phuket, Thailand’s only international airport. Domestic flights by airlines like Bangkok Airways, Thai Airways, and AirAsia connect major cities to Phuket as well.

By Car

Visitors can rent a car from Phuket International Airport or local agencies to have more flexibility when getting around. Be mindful that some areas off the beaten path may not be mapped accurately. Expect heavy traffic in tourist areas during peak hours and remember to drive on the left side of the road. Motorbike taxis are great for short distances or congested areas.

By Public Transit

Public transit is primarily used through Songthaews and tuk-tuks. Songthaews are shared pickup trucks that are readily available throughout the island with specific routes. Tuk-tuks, on the other hand, are small three-wheeled vehicles that can be hired for private use or shared with others. Negotiating the fare is common, so it’s advisable to agree on a price before starting the trip.
