Pattaya Teen Rescues Depressed Woman Walking into Sea to try to Drown Herself

Pattaya —

A 17-year-old Thai teen rescued a suicidal woman after witnessing her walking into the Pattaya sea in an attempt to harm herself early this morning.

The incident was reported to Pattaya police at 3:30 AM today, October 23rd, on Pattaya Beach close to Soi Pattaya 9, Nongprue sub-district, Banglamung district, Chonburi province. Emergency responders, Pattaya police, and The Pattaya News promptly rushed to the scene.

Upon arrival, authorities discovered a 24-year-old Thai woman identified only as Ms. Rattanaporn. Her last name was withheld by The Pattaya News to protect her privacy. She was found in tears on the beach, with a crowd of tourists observing the situation.

According to a 17-year-old Thai teenager, Mr. Parich (last name withheld due to his age), he explained that he was hanging out on the beach with his friends when he noticed Ms. Rattanaporn tearfully wading into the sea.

As she ventured deeper, Mr. Parich grew increasingly concerned and ultimately made the decision to run into the water to rescue her. The young Good Samaritan stated that he reached her just in time, with the water level at chest height. After successfully bringing her back to safety, he promptly notified the authorities.

According to the woman, she tearfully confided that she was having relationship issues with her boyfriend and had decided to take her own life. Emergency responders administered first aid before transporting her to the Pattaya Police Station. Subsequently, Ms. Rattanaporn’s boyfriend was summoned to the station to address the matter, with police officers facilitating communication between the two parties.

Mr. Parich was highly praised on Thai social media for his heroic actions.
