Pattaya Beach Trees Off-Limits for Unauthorized Signage

Pattaya —

The Pattaya City administration is calling for cooperation from both government agencies and private businesses to refrain from attaching or affixing any signs on trees along Pattaya and Jomtien beaches.

The directive came after the Department of Botany, under Pattaya’s Natural Resources and Environment Office, discovered various signs and other materials affixed to trees in these areas.

Such activities contravene the provisions of the 1992 Act on the Maintenance of the Cleanliness and Orderliness, according to the city announcement. The Act stipulates that any form of advertisement or signage within city limits requires prior permission from local authorities and must comply with specific regulations regarding size, placement, and content. Furthermore, the Act explicitly prohibits the installation of any unauthorized materials in prohibited areas, including roadsides, public spaces, monuments, roundabouts, and government buildings.

The Pattaya City administration emphasizes the importance of preserving the natural beauty of the city’s beaches, adding maintaining a clean and welcoming environment for visitors is crucial to Pattaya’s continued success as a world-class tourist destination.
