Patpong Museum to recall Thailand’s fabled ‘Prostitute Cemetery’ for Halloween

An abandoned brothel in Kanchanaburi is the inspiration for the Patpong Museum to transform itself into a haunted house for Halloween. 

Next week, the museum will host Prostitution Cemetery, a haunted house-themed event inspired by the brothel where many sex workers were held captive, beaten, forced to have abortions, and murdered.

Performing arts students from Srinakharinwirot University will play ghosts for the event. Guests can also play a few games to win a medal.

The museum has partnered with a condom brand for the event. It says that it wants to raise awareness about safe sex and the problems faced by commercial sex workers that go ignored by the authorities.
