Pathum retain huge lead as Port drop points again

BG Pathum United extended their enviable unbeaten record to 21 games in Thai League 1 following a 1-1 home draw with True Bangkok United on Saturday night.

So high was the level of the Rabbits’s confidence that they went into the match without their top strike duo, leaving both Diogo Luis Santo and Teerasil Dangda on the bench.

Following a close miss from Thailand international Thitiphan Puangjan, Sumanya Purisay opened a long ball for Pathompon Charoenrattanapirom to put the hosts ahead in the 26th minute.

Bangkok United went all out on attack and Heberty Fernandes’s shot was saved by Pathum United goalkeeper Chatchai Butprom late in the first half.
