Pan Asia sets target for Thailand lithium prospect

Singapore-based Pan Asia Metals, on the hunt for battery metals in Southern Thailand, has defined an exploration target at its Bang I Tum prospect of 8 to 14 million tonnes grading between 0.5 and 0.8 per cent lithium oxide.

Bang I Tum is an old, relatively large open-cut tin mine turned lithium prospect and part of the larger Reung Kiet lithium project. The target has been reported in advance of a drilling program, expected to start in about two months.

Test work is also scheduled to evaluate the potential metallurgical performance of the mineralisation.

Pan Asia recently reported a mineral resource of 104Mt, containing about 113,000 tonnes of lithium carbonate equivalent, or “LCE”, at its Reung Kiet lithium prospect, about 8km south-west of Bang I Tum.
