One month same location

I will be going to thailand for a month with kids (6, 8) next year (march) and I was wondering where would be the best place to rent an apartment for a month. We had in mind Kata, Ao Nang or Koh Lanta.

We are looking for a nice convenient place to be based and enjoy living slowly in Thailand. Great beach, stuff to do around for couple day / multi days trips, restaurants/food that are within walkable distance.

What would you recommend and why? Also about booking an apartment, I’m guessing Agoda or Airbnb?
