Old town Bangkok’s red-hot ‘Samrub Thai’ takes over Spice Market at downtown hotel

Samrub Samrub Thai, the perpetually booked Charoen Krung hot spot of chef Prin Polsuk, is getting a second location.

Now through October, the red-hot restaurant is taking over Spice Market at the Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel on Ratchadamri Road.

Headed by chef Prin, Samrub Samrub Thai (aka Samrub for Thai) focuses on preserving and reinterpreting traditional Thai cooking methods, techniques, and forgotten ingredients into seasonal menus of classic dishes dating back to the reign of King Rama VI.

At Spice Market, diners will be able to get a five-course lunch menu (THB1,100) and a choice of seven- or 10-course dinner menus (THB2,300/THB2,800).

Dishes include raw cured fish with mustard green and mint, southern grilled chicken with coconut cream, sour fruit relish with shrimp paste and dried prawn served with fresh fruit and vegetables and grilled fish with turmeric….
