A giant turtle, believed by locals to bring wealth and good fortune, caused a stir in the Nakhon Ratchasima community.
The turtle, weighing approximately 12 kilogrammes, was found by 63 year old resident Jod Songnok who has been taking care of it for over two years. The unusual creature is attracting crowds due to its peculiar shell markings, which resemble the revered Thai King, and its unusual size compared to common turtles.
Jod discovered the unique turtle near his home in Baan Sawanwari, Nong Bunnak, Nakhon Ratchasima. The turtle’s shell, unlike typical ones, flares up at the ends instead of curving down. Additionally, the rear end of the shell has several beautiful ridges.
