No visa fees for Taiwanese, Indian tourists from Nov 10

“Tourists from India and Taiwan can enter Thailand for 30 days,” government spokesman Chai Wacharonke said.

Before the Cabinet approved the visa waiver, the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) governor Thapanee Kiatphaibool said the government was looking into ways of making it easier for foreign tourists to travel. This includes air travel measures, like visa exemption and land border checkpoints.

This visa-free policy has been applicable for Chinese tourists since September 25 and will run until February next year.

The prime minister said the government is looking to see if this exemption can be made permanent.

There are additional plans to make things easier for Malaysians entering Thailand through the Sadao border checkpoint in Songkhla province.

This special arrangement will waive the requirement of filling out immigration forms.
