Need advice/guidance on applying jobs from abroad

Hi all – hope this is okay to post here(have checked the rules). I’m just looking for advice/tips from anyone who has gone through the similar experience.

I’m currently based in London(UK citizen) and started applying for some jobs in Bangkok about 2 months ago. I work in the tech industry and been working for SAAS companies in mainly customer facing/consulting roles for the past 10 years. My main reason considering the relocation is because I was born in the SEA region and never had a chance to work there.

Since I started applying – I’ve sent my CV to about 50 different companies and apart from 4-5 rejections, I’ve not heard anything back from anyone else. I’m mainly using LinkedIn for now to find jobs as I tried a few alternative options such as jobsDB, but not really found the roles I’m looking for on those sites yet.

I know me not being there physically and not speaking the language will exclude me from the consideration for majority of the jobs posted. But since I didn’t even apply for the ones specifically mentioned the language requirements or can’t sponsor for visa – I thought I would have received a little bit more responses than this.

So, I’m just posting here to see if anyone else had the same experience and perhaps gives me some pointers on where I should be looking, something I’m doing wrong or any information that you can share which would be helpful.

Thanks a lot in advance!
