“Navigating the Challenges of Living in an Illegally Constructed Home: Tips for Maintaining Safety and Avoiding Legal Issues”

I am a foreigner living with my Thai partner in her family’s home. They have constructed the house illegally in several places, resulting in cracks in the tiles near the beams on each floor. Although my partner is the only one paying the loan and registered on the insurance, she does not have a good understanding of the legal and structural issues surrounding the house. She is reluctant to interfere and wants to be respectful towards her family. I am worried that this could cause problems for us in the future. How can I communicate to them that they should not engage in any further activities that involve drilling, electrical wiring, pipe laying, or extending the structure? I am looking for advice on this matter, not related to our relationship.
