NACC throws ethics book at Pareena

Pareena: Faces four charges

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has officially declared Palang Pracharath Party MP Pareena Kraikupt guilty of committing severe ethical misconduct in connection with the land encroachment case against her.

Ms Pareena deliberately committed acts amounting to gross misconduct as a lawmaker, an offence under a revised NACC law, NACC spokesman Niwatchai Kasemmongkol told a press conference on Wednesday.

She is the first parliamentarian to be judged guilty by the NACC of the charge.

The NACC said Ms Pareena failed to comply with laws and regulations governing the conservation of nature and natural resources, which are of national interest, while at the same time portraying herself as a law-abiding citizen.
