Marugame Seimen to close all Thai branches by month’s end

All branches of udon chain Marugame Seimen will close indefinitely by the end of March, the Japanese franchise announced this morning.

Joining the ranks of multinationals unable to cross the pandemic finish line, the noodle shop made the announcement across its socials that its two remaining Bangkok branches at The Promenade and Gateway Ekamai shopping malls would shut by March 31. 

Its sole branch in Pattaya at Terminal 21 goes dark March 26.

“Dear Valued Customers, we are sorry to announce that Marugame Seimen (Thailand) will be closed permanently,” read their statement. “Thank you for all your support and hope to see you again.” 

Owned by Japan’s Toridoll Corporation and founded in 2000, Marugame Seimen has served Thai diners fried karaage chicken, tasty tempura and signature noodle dishes since 2012 before expanding to approximately 30…
