Marriage contract or not

Dear Community,

I am German and engaged to a Thai woman. We are planning to get married in Thailand this year and I will also be moving to Thailand in 2025.

Although I have read a lot about prenuptial agreements, I still don't have complete clarity. So I have a few questions:

– Is it correct that the principle of separation of property applies in Thailand and does this mean that the assets that each spouse acquires before and during the marriage are basically allocated to personal property and not divided between the spouses?

– We have roughly the same annual income. Is it still possible that alimony will have to be paid in the event of a divorce?

– We are not planning to have children. This is just for information.

– What else is there to consider that might speak in favor of a prenuptial agreement?

As the cost of a prenuptial agreement is well over 5000 euros due to the scale of fees for a notary, I would like to obtain extensive information in advance in order to be able to make a decision and hope for helpful answers.
