Man rejected by employer due to a police mistake

A 25 year old Thai man was rejected by an employer because a police officer in the Isaan province of Buriram mistakenly put his name on a criminal record sheet.

Phichitchai Anansook filed a complaint with the Ministry of Justice, saying he was unemployed because of a mistake by Nong Song Hong Police Station. His name was listed as a suspect who possessed ammunition without permission but he pleaded innocent, saying he has never been involved in any illegal activities.

Phichitchai’s father, 62 year old Boonhome Anansook, gave an interview with Thai media about the issue. Boonhome said Phichitchai worked in Chon Buri since 2021 and had no problems until he decided to change jobs this year.

Phichitchai applied for a position with a private company in Chon Buri but the company rejected him because his name was on a criminal record list.
