LTAT boss Suchai promises to develop new Thai stars

Lawn Tennis Association of Thailand president Suchai Pornchaisakudom has vowed to create new stars.

Suchai, who was elected as LTAT chief late last year, told a press conference yesterday that one of his main targets was to push for tennis development.

“One of my main policies is to create players who can play on the international stage like Paradorn Srichaphan, Tamarine Tanasugarn and Danai Ucomchoke did in the past,” he said.

Since the trio, who are the country’s most successful players, retired several years ago, the LTAT has struggled to find new stars to replace them.

Suchai said the LTAT lacked enough sponsorship in the past but his team may be able to solve the problem.
