I’ve visited Pai a couple of times and loved it. I’ve been training Muay Thai a bit in my current location and am seriously considering applying for the Non-Immigrant Education Visa, and living in Pai for at least a few months.
So far I’ve only spent a couple of weeks there, so I have some questions for anyone who’s lived there.

Pai is pretty remote so, is ordering stuff online that can’t be found locally fairly straightforward and cheap? That includes food (I don’t expect the local supermarkets to have more niche items) or things like electronics etc.

How is the “expat scene”? I think I only met one or two Westerners who weren’t just passing through. That’s not a huge problem for me, and I know some locals speak English quite well, but it would also be a nice bonus if I could make Western friends who aren’t going to leave in a week.

How bad is the rain at this time of year? Is it typically sunny in the morning, pours down in the afternoon and then clears up in the evening? Does it cause awful flooding?
