Punching up its sustainable footwear, Melissa has collaborated with Marc Jacobs for a capsule collection.

The Brazilian brand had previously partnered with renowned fashion designers such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Karl Lagerfeld and Vivienne Westwood as well as Dutch label Viktor & Rolf and Paris-based Y/PROJECT.

Launched in 1979, Melissa disrupted the industry by transforming plastic into an innovative material for making its iconic jelly shoes.

The proprietary Melflex is a type of PVC that is 100% recyclable, flexible, resistant and comfortable.

Another sustainable material, biobased EVA partially derived from sugar cane has at least 25% plant-based content certified by the USDA.

This environmentally friendly and light biomaterial makes shoes comfortable for everyday wear.
