Leader of Pheu Thai Party Advocates for Cultural Soft Power, Highlights Mookata in Uttaradit Visit

On November 19th, 2023, Ms. Paetongtarn Shinawatra, the leader of the Pheu Thai Party, and other members of the Pheu Thai Party paid a visit to the Pheu Thai Party Office, Uttaradit.

During the visit, Paetongtarn publicly stated as the president of the National Soft Power Strategy Committee that she is ready to support tourism at both urban and rural levels.

For example, Uttaradit is famous for foods, fruits, and local handicrafts as they are sold under the label “Uttaradit Provenance.”

Furthermore, Paetongtarn asserted that she seeks to bring forward “Mu Kratha, Mookata, or Thai Table-cooked dish” as a Soft Power that could attract people, both Thais and foreigners.

Mookata is a popular style of Thai barbecue that combines elements of barbecue and hot pot.
