Korn goes crypto for virus-hit pooches

Former finance minister and Kla Party leader Korn Chatikavanij has launched an international project by creating digital assets as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) to raise funds to help dogs affected by Covid-19.

Mr Korn, the co-founder and ex-chairman of the Thai Fintech Association, created NFTs, a type of digital asset developed on blockchain technology, to launch his “Mission: Pawsible” project. The tokens comprise digital art images of the 20 French bulldogs he keeps at his Bangkok home. All 20 NFTs are now up for auction and sale at “Opensea” — the largest digital marketplace for crypto collectibles and NFTs.

Proceeds will be donated to the Dog Trust foundation in the UK and two dog foundations in Thailand: The Voice, and Dog Island. Most charities have suffered during the Covid period, not least pet welfare charities.
