Kirins earn shot at top four with big win

Former champions SCG Muang Thong United turned their first Thai League 1 game after a coronavirus-enforced month-long shutdown into a scoring bonanza as they routed Rayong 4-0 on Sunday night.

The victory has given the sixth-placed Kirins a realistic chance of finishing among the top four as they are now spotted only four points behind Buriram United, who occupy third spot in the table with 29 points along with Chiang Rai and Ratchaburi.

Muang Thong, starting with three strikers, hit the top gear early at their SCG Stadium and soon found themselves a goal ahead as Rayong goalkeeper Anusit Termmee failed to stop a shot from Suporn Pitanakapho.
