Ismail Sabri: 672 nabbed for MCO violations with 442 held for activities at entertainment outlets

PETALING JAYA: Police detained 672 individuals for failing to comply with movement control order (MCO) regulations on Saturday (Dec 19), says Senior Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob.

The Defence Minister said among the offences were activities at entertainment outlets (442 individuals), not wearing face masks (90), failure to comply with physical distancing (78) and not leaving contact details (37).

“A total of 643 individuals were given compounds and 29 were remanded, ” he said in a statement Sunday (Dec 20).

The task force on standard operating procedure (SOP) compliance also conducted 45,483 checks involving 3,482 supermarkets, 4,814 restaurants, 1,572 hawkers, 1,238 factories, 3,124 banks and 669 government offices.
