Is there any benefit for foreigners that pay Thai taxes?

Hello everyone,

I’ve been in Thailand for quite a while now on a non-b and I’ve paid all my taxes every year. One thing I’ve wondered is if there’s any actual benefit (aside from legal reasons) to paying taxes. I’m not talking about social security here as that’s a separate charge, or at least it appears that way to me.

Every time there’s some kind of government promotion or government stimulus it seems it’s only for Thais. The reason I bring this up now is because Pheu Thai’s 10,000 baht digital wallet has been discussed after the recent political developments. Is it true that despite paying taxes for nearly a decade I wouldn’t qualify for this or any other government program?

I’m mostly just curious. Is there a difference between legal foreigners paying taxes, permanent residents, and naturalized citizens in this regard?

Thanks!
