I see a lot more anime merch everywhere in shopping malls in Thailand and the Animate store and cosplay scene are massive here.
I just came from Canada. Anime over there did have a lot of fanfare, but a lot of people usually couldn’t get into it and it usually was associated with people who were socially awkward/on the spectrum. If animation was being discussed it was usually western animation or western anime, but never Japanese anime. But when I landed in Thailand, it seems a lot of people watch anime.
Is this true? Is anime the most popular form of animation in Thailand right now. I mean heck on Netflix’s top ten, more people are watching attack on Titan and jujutsu Kaisen than Blue eye samurai.
