Inexpensive local material for acoustic treatment of a room for music production

Can anyone suggest anything for this? I’m setting up a home studio in a bedroom in a house. It has wood laminate type floors and bare walls, and has gnarly standing waves (a harsh, short reverb that will make audio in the room sound like crap). I need something not too costly that I can affix to the walls in a decent size bedroom.

I tried to find a source for carpet remnants in CM, but had no luck online. That is what I’d like to use on the floor, but carpet would work very well on walls too. Was hoping for something lighter weight for the walls, though. Either way, when I search the web for carpet remnants or even just carpet sellers, most of what I get is businesses selling Persian carpets, aka “oriental rugs.”
