I never understood all that security measures in Bangkok.

We would all agree that Bangkok and Thailand in general are pretty safe. Regardless of that all houses, shops, condos have so much fences, cameras, security guards like it’s some shithole ghetto.

Some shitty looking house have high walls full of razor wire or broken glass on top of the walls. Houses looks more deserted and non maintenance and yet built like fortress.
Each store have this metal roll down doors like it’s national bank.

Is that blast from the past when there were lots of crime/robberies or that still happens so often, but we as a foreigners are not aware of it.
Cities with much more crime have way less security measures then Bangkok.
It gives you impression that you’re in high crime city while in reality that’s far from truth.

EDID: Some people here got mad because I consider Bangkok safe. If I wrote that Bangkok is dangerous I’m sure they’ll be first one to write me that Bangkok is safe. 🤣
