Their restaurant survived the COVID-19 pandemic, despite opening soon after Houston implemented restrictions on dining last March. Instead, they say they survived by offering a uniquely authentic Thai experience.

Srasrisuwan said that at some restaurants, patrons just take to-go orders and leave without experiencing the restaurant’s culture. “But what made us survive is we make it worth coming to our restaurant — we ensure you will be safe, and the food itself tastes authentic,” she said.

When Srasrisuwan first met Loetkhamfu, Kin Dee’s chef, over a decade ago, she tried some of her food and it reminded her of home, and they decided to go into business together….
