BANGKOK, April 22 (Xinhua) — The Historic Town of Sukhothai in the northern province of Sukhothai in Thailand has attracted tourists worldwide to glimpse the capital of the first Kingdom of Siam in the 13th and 14th centuries. It has a number of fine monuments, illustrating the beginnings of Thai architecture.
In 1991, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization inscribed the Historic Town of Sukhothai and Associated Historic Towns on its World Heritage List.
