Help with degree legalization for Visa

Hello, I’m posting this in the TEFL and Thailand subreddits, hopefully someone can offer advice. I worked briefly at a school in Thailand a few months ago, but left after a few days (because they told me I would be working in a different city to the one I ended up working in).

I now have a job that I have started teaching at a High School, its going well but the problem is my old employer have lost my legalised and embassy stamped degree. :( I now need to get my degree re-legalized which is not good. Is there any way I can do this in Thailand? Or will I have to mail my degree back to the UK to get it re-legalised and stamped at the Thai embassy? I’m hoping I don’t have to do this as it will be very expensive and there is a risk my degree will be lost.

I still have a scanned copy of the old legalised degree but I presume this wont be good enough either? ie. it needs the stamps on it.
