Head home early, Bangkok. Things to get wet by late afternoon.

Save your work and sneak out early this afternoon as Bangkok is in for yet another downpour – this time starting by late afternoon.

Light to moderate rain is expected to start by 4pm for the next three days across much of metropolitan Bangkok, with City Hall singling out both downtown and outlying districts for a good soaking in a morning weather bulletin. Commuters should allow extra travel time and use caution, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration warned.

Meanwhile, natural resources chief Varawut Silpa-archa told reporters that Bangkok Gov. Chadchart Sittipunt has ordered half a dozen large water pumps distributed around Bangkok in an effort to reduce flooding.

Four of the pumps will be set up around Phra Khanong, with two others to be installed Monday in the Srinakarin and Bang Na areas.
