Getting to Mae Taeng region

Hello all, planning a visit to Thailand next year and plan to spend 4/5 days in chiang mai. Looking at some places to stay in the Mae Taeng region in the mountains but can’t figure out the best way to get there and back from the airport/train station.

Getting there would a taxi outside the airport/train station be happy to take us there whether via the grab app or at the taxi stands? How likely is it to be able to call a taxi using the grab app in that region for return journey back to the airport?

Would getting a private driver be a better option? And would a private driver be happy to only taking us there and back, rather than hiring them for the entire day?

Any other suggestions on how to get there? I haven’t driven a car for nearly 15 years so not comfortable driving there.
