Relegated Sukhothai have vowed to stand up and fight for a quick return to Thai League 1.
The Fire Bats’ fate was sealed on the final day of the 2020 season on Sunday after they lost to Suphanburi who will remain in the top flight next season.
Sukhothai chairwoman Anongwan Thepsuthin said all players and officials were disappointed by the outcome.
“No one at the club wanted this to happen,” she said.
“We must put it out of our minds quickly and prepare for next season. We have to stand up and fight. Playing in Thai League 2 is not easy as all teams want to get promoted to Thai League 1.”
Anongwan said it was understandable that players would want to leave Sukhothai for their own future.
