Hc Enables Teen’s Safe Travel From Thailand To Meet Father | Mumbai News

Mumbai: Children are treated as chattels by warring parents, lamented Bombay high court while enabling the safe travel and return of a Thailand-based woman and her minor son to meet his father and two siblings in Mumbai.
“For the healthy growth of a child, it is necessary that a child has the company of both his parents as well as his siblings,” said Justices Ramesh Dhanuka and Gauri Godse in the verdict on Thursday. The father urged the high court to direct the mother to bring the 15-year-old boy for summer holidays.
In September 2020, the Family Court had allowed the mother to retain custody of the son. Her advocate Rohaan Cama said she is willing to come with the boy but due to proceedings against her by his father, she seeks an order for safe travel and return.
