HBO Go and Pre paid visa debit

Good afternoon wise ones of Reddit!

My husband is *dying* to watch the tv show “Last of Us” lol. We are Australian, currently travelling the World for a bit and have found ourselves in Thailand for a bit of downtime, so perfect opportunity for him to binge watch this show, while I get massages and hang out at the beach!

However, I cant get our Aus streaming service to work, they have cracked down on VPNs apparently and I have tried 3 different versions with no luck!

I have tried to sign up for HBO Go, but obviously since we have just arrived and are on the tourist visa exemption stamp I dont have a Thai credit or debit card.. so it wont let me pay 😕 it doesnt give me any option for Paypal or google pay…just debit/credit card, 3bb or voucher?

I have googled and SCB has a tourist prepaid visa card, which hopefully I can go and get tomorrow (pending Songkram opening hours!?) But can anyone confirm this will work for HBO Go?

Or does anyone have any other suggestions? Is there a gift card for HBO Go that I can get from 7/11 or supermarket at all? In Phuket (Choeng Thale/Bang Tao) if that makes a difference!!
