Borax easy to find at any big supermarket in the US in the laundry area as it is a useful additive, and it can also be used to kill ants. It is generally in the same section as bleach and other laundry additives in a US supermarket.
Here in Thailand I’ve seen some websites that suggest Borax as a useful way to deal with ants, so I think it is a known substance here. But where do you buy it?
I’m currently in BKK and I’ve tried mr DIY, Tesco, Big-C, Villa, and Home Pro — none of them have it, at least not at the branches I’ve been to. I asked an employee at Big-C that knew what it was and she hunted around for a while in the laundry product area thinking it might be there but never found it. Then she walked me over to the pharmacist to ask (I wouldn’t think to look in the pharmacy area for Borax?) and the pharmacist said they don’t have and looked a bit bemused that we were asking her.
I’m sure I could order online but I’m old fashioned and like going into an actual store and looking at the products and buying them the same day.
