Go gooey for posh donuts at new Ekkamai cafe

After quietly closing its location on Soi Nanglinchee late last year, Brassica has brought its famous goo-filled donuts to Ekkamai Soi 12 in a shared space with fashion cafe One Ounce for Onion.

Expect the same bulky, sugary kick from the donuts, with Singaporean chef Cong Wen and his partner still handling the operation. Eat your fill of peanut butter jam, vanilla custard, or strawberry jam (THB90), all with 12-hour rested dough that makes for a dense, bouncy texture. 

There are also some unapologetic meal-breakers here, including a leche flan doughnut sandwich (THB120) – with an appearance vaguely reminiscent of Pacman, thanks to a soft jiggly cream caramel that pairs with the slightly burnt sugar atop the doughnut – and creme brulee (THB90), which has a dense mouthfeel and fresh cream.
