Around three go-go bar guards allegedly attacked a Russian tourist, who reportedly refused to pay for the drinks he had ordered, on Walking Street at 3:30 AM this morning, June 18th.
The attacked tourist, Mr. Oleg Rusovsiannikov, 33, of Russian nationality, suffered swelling and bruises on his face and profuse bleeding.
He was aided by Pattaya Police after he was allegedly attacked by 2-3 guards of an unidentified go-go bar on Pattaya Walking Street at 3:30 AM today.
Several people and friends of Oleg were surrounding him when the police arrived. He was taken to the Pattaya Police Station to provide a formal testimony with a Russian translator. He did not immediately release a statement to the media and there were some language barriers to the situation.
According to Pattaya law enforcement officials who witnessed the incident, go-go venue guards were arguing with the Russian man on Walking Street because he reportedly refused to pay for the drinks he had ordered. The reason for refusing payment and the amount of his bill were not disclosed to the media. Oleg reportedly forced his way out of the venue, so the venue guards followed him into Walking Street. A heated verbal argument then occurred which eventually led to the alleged assault.
Pattaya Police are investigating whether the man really refused the payment and what the circumstances were around the incident. They will also summon those involved in the incident for legal charges.
Pattaya police reminded gogo and nightclub owners to immediately call police if a customer refuses to pay a bill to avoid a further confrontation and to never, ever, under any circumstances, physically attack a customer.
