Get your motors running for toll-free Songkran travel around Bangkok

As everyone heads out to celebrate the Seven Deadly Days of Death (formerly known as Songkran) on the road, the government will again ease their way by waiving tolls on key expressways and intra-provincial motorways during the holidays.

While reporters prepare to spend the holidays publishing grim tallies of the dead, the Highways Department joined the Expressway Authority today in announcing no tolls will be collected along major roadways for three to seven days. 

Prepare to speed between the ticket cams on popular Bangkok routes such as the Bang Na-Chonburi Expressway (Burapha Withi, formally) and Kanchanaphisek Expressway, which will be free 12:01am from Wednesday through the end of Tuesday.
