In 1932 Omega successfully tested its Marine, the world’s first commercially available diver’s watch, in Lake Geneva at a depth of 73m. Stringent laboratory tests later proved that it was water resistant to 135m.

Then, it was unimaginable that an Omega watch would, in the future, plunge deeper into the ocean to 6,000m.

The Precision At Every Level theme expresses the underwater feats of the Seamaster family on the occasion of its 75th anniversary.

Before the launch in 1948, the Swiss company built expertise in diver’s watches through military models.

During World War II, more than 110,000 Omega watches were delivered to Great Britain’s Ministry of Defence to support its Air Force and Navy pilots. The ministry had the caseback engraved W.W.W, which stood for Waterproof Wrist Watch.
