Entertainers issue plea for help

Entertainment industry workers from five maximum control provinces on Monday stepped up their call for the government to provide a cash subsidy to help them amid the Covid-19 pandemic.

Thaksasilp Udomchai, a representative of a group of musicians who lodged a petition at Government House, said people needed money to pay their rent and called for the financial aid of 7,000 baht provided under the “Rao Chana” welfare programme be paid in cash.

He also asked the government to allow entertainment venues in the five provinces to reopen if the Covid-19 outbreak improved in the next two weeks.
