Dishonest Worker Empties Pattaya Employer’s Bank Account

Pattaya —

The 52-year-old owner of an antique collectibles shop in the Huay Yai area took to The Pattaya News to share his plight after having been swindled by a former employee who took off with over a hundred thousand Baht.

Mr. Boonsarng Nanamkeaw revealed that a Thai woman, aged 30-40 years old named “A” (alias), entered his shop a couple of months ago to ask for a job. Out of sympathy, he decided to hire her.

Mr. Boonsarng’s antique shop is located in the Banglamung district of Chonburi province. He said over the following 2-3 months, A helped him with the work diligently, but the only drawback was that she was addicted to online gambling. The employer cautioned her numerous times to break free from it. It wasn’t until the morning of October 18th that A revealed her true colors.

Deceptively, she asked Mr. Boonsarng to transfer 100 baht to her via an online banking application. Trusting her, he failed to notice that she secretly looked at his password. After the transaction, the employee and her boss shared a meal together as usual. Subsequently, Mr. Boonsarng took his prescribed medication for an illness and started feeling drowsy, eventually drifting off.

Upon waking up late in the morning, Mr. Boonsarng discovered that his two mobile phones, a Bluetooth headset, and a Yamaha motorcycle were missing. As for A, she had vanished without a trace from his shop. Attempts to contact her were unsuccessful. Shockingly, the shop owner revealed that all the money, totaling around a hundred thousand baht in his bank account, had been transferred. He suspected that A had used his password to empty his savings.

Mr. Boonsarng has already filed a report with local police. He shared a cautionary note with The Pattaya News, advising other business owners not to hire anyone out of pity, as they might end up unknowingly hiring a thief.
